Glass Marble Beauties

Glass Marble Beauties

Today I was in a pinch and needed to put together a small quick gift. One of my girlfriends gave me a little magnetic board with these marbles on them a couple of Christmases ago.. I use them every day to hold up this and that on the fridge. This is a super quick project.... Just a word of caution.. Mod Podge is addicting! There is even a whole blog dedicated to this stuff here ! I went ahead and made several so I will have a few on hand when needed. These are super cute and super simple to make
Here is how I made these:
Supplies Needed:
Paper with a design. Can be the latest edition of the Tea clothing catalog or Scrapbook Scraps
Mod Podge Matte
Paint Brush
Glass Marbles (found in the floral section of craft stores and Wal-Mart)

Find the place on your paper you want the marble to be placed...
Apply a Thin/Medium coat of Mod Podge to your stone. You have to work a little quick because it sets up pretty fast.
Apply a thin coat of Mod Podge on the design paper. Place you Marble on top of the paper. It will look sorta foggy but no worries as it will dry clear.
See how I just left them there on the uncut paper to dry ... Geez I love this Amy Butler paper!
Cut aound your marble. This is so much easier than cutting out a bunch of circles and placing them on the back. I heart short-cuts!
WOW! These are so Beautiful. I could just leave them in the bowl for decoration.. But I'm sure my kids would think they are candy so Moving along...

To do the Photos, I bought the larger marbles. The only place I have been able to find them is at Michaels. I resized my picture to 1.4 inches and printed on cardstock.

Use the same technique as I did on the Amy Butler Paper
Apply a small dab of E6000 on the back to secure your Magnet and/or Thumbtacks

Seriously, I love these! I still adore the set given to me every time I open the Fridge.
There you have it. See I told you...quick, simple and BEAUTIFUL!
{I had to pull a few from my "future" gifts and put them on my own fridge}
