On my 35th birthday I decided to CHANGE. I was tired of being tired. Tired of being asked when my baby was due. Mad at myself for gaining over 50 pounds in two years. I want to be on this beautiful earth for many more years.. I want to CELEBRATE LIFE. Then something happened. The tomorrow I always say that I will start.. actually came.
One foot in front of the other... I'll run three mail boxes then walk two.... I will run to the light post and walk. That is how this addiction started. What started as cheap exercise and a way to get healthy has become something that I love. Somedays it seem impossible. Somedays it is effortless.
For years I have said this year I will run a 5k. But never in my wildest dreams would this girl be running a Quarter marathon and placing in the top half. For once in a long time I can say I AM PROUD OF MYSELF.
NEXT RACE:
TULSA RUN 10-31-15
RT 66 1/2 Marathon 11-22-15

This week is my Birthday!!! I'm thirty something and I know that my metabolism is so not what it was in my 20's. So I need to do everything I can to give it a boost.
Right now I'm on a mini vacation and I'm armed with a bag of healthy snacks to help me not binge while we are eating out. I have a choice these few days.. I can use all the walking we are doing to boost my weight loss or I can indulge in the buffets and desert bars. I think I'll just stick to it! Two pounds down 18 to go!

Last week you ladies shared so many amazing stories.
I left each of your blogs feeling so inspired! Thank you!
Here is a few stories from last week...

This is Me In the Beginning Happy, Healthy! Fitness Plan for Anyone!
This week I made a Grab and Go Snack Stash. It truly cut out all the unhealthy eating when I felt a snack attack coming on! Everything was prepared so it was so simple to just grab and go. I even grabbed the bags of fruit and veggies and tossed them in our lunch pack so I was not temped to eat out. I had to refill the stash in the fridge several times because my kids kept going back to it. I'm going to make one exclusively for my littles tomorrow. This was a win win for all of us in the family.
What's in our Snack Attack Stash?
Natural Jiffy Peanut Butter
Yogurt
Cheese Sticks (Colby Jack and String)
Grapes
Blue Berries
Apples
Baby Carrots
Sliced Cucumbers
Celery
Lunch Meat Roll Ups {wrap your lunch meat around a cheese stick}
Whole Wheat Crackers

95 Pounds Down 18.4 up...
The Happy Healthy Me Project!
95 Pounds down 18.4 pounds up...
I had to take a deep breath when I was posting this... I wish I could tell you that I'm perfect, I have a perfect body and I can eat yummy cupcakes all day. I simply can't. 95 Pounds down 18.4 pounds up...
Truth... Over the last year, I worked incredibly hard to lose 95 pounds. It has been the hardest thing I have ever done. I've learned that I have a CRAZY relationship with food. I thought that food made me happy but it was just dragging me down. I have always been thin, so how did this happen? I now know.. {I had taken pictures along the way just for my own personal use so they are not the best pics but I wanted to share with you all.}
So you ask how I did it? It all started with a 1200-1400 calorie diet and cardio on my elliptical machine. I stuck with it and wrote EVERYTHING down that went in my mouth. I ate lots of fruits and veggies so I rarely felt hungry. It was a total lifestyle change. But one I can do forever. I have learned a lot through my journey. The biggest is to set small goals!
Truth.. I'm back up to 148.4. 130 is my happy place. My jeans don't fit now, and I had spent a ton on clothes going from a size 16 to a 4! I had worked so so hard that I MUST lose the 18.4 pounds before things get out of hand again. I'm not going to beat myself up about it, but through the holidays I had a bout of "cocky" eating and it has continued. I got back into old habits. Lesson Learned.TIME FOR A CHANGE!
I'm going to change things up a little . Thursdays will be the new "The Happy Healthy Me Project!" link party here on the Glitter Blog. We can all share our stories, recipes and motivation. (Mondays will still be the Crafty Link Party) I hope that you all will join me in my quest for healthiness and maintaining my weight...
Anyone else having food wars? I'd love to hear your stories!
